Terms of Use
Brief Network IT Services Private Limited (U62099DC2026PTC475137), office at D-65, First Floor, Defence Colony, New Delhi 110024 ("Adhivaktas.com", "we").
Effective: 8 October 2026
By using Adhivaktas.com you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
1. What Adhivaktas.com is, and what it is not
Adhivaktas.com is a noticeboard and record-keeper for advocates. An advocate posts work they need covered. Another advocate applies. The two of them agree a fee between themselves, and we keep the record of what was agreed and what happened.
We are not:
- a law firm, and we give no legal advice
- a party to any engagement between two advocates
- an employer, agent, or partner of any advocate on the platform
- a bank or a payment service. During the trial the wallet holds trial credits, not money, and no real money passes through us. See clause 5, the most important clause in this document.
We do not select, recommend, endorse or rank advocates for you, and we take no responsibility for the quality, timeliness or outcome of any work.
2. Who may use it
Only individuals enrolled with a State Bar Council in India. By registering you confirm that you are, that your enrolment is current, and that you are not suspended or debarred.
We check the enrolment number you give against your State Bar Council's records before you can take on work: automatically, against the Bar Council of Delhi's published verification roll, if you are enrolled in Delhi, and by our team, against the records of the State Bar Council concerned, if you are enrolled elsewhere. We also ask for a photo of you holding your Bar Council ID card, which our team compares with that record. That check confirms an entry exists and is marked verified by the Bar Council. It is not our own verification of your identity, your standing, or your competence, and you must not represent it as such to anyone.
Your verification lasts as long as your Bar Council ID card is valid. You give us the date printed on it, and we confirm it against your photo. We remind you 30 days and 7 days before it. The day after that date your account stays open, but it cannot take on work or withdraw earnings until we approve a photo of you holding your renewed card. A card with no expiry date printed on it does not lapse this way.
Your account is yours alone. Do not share it. Tell us at once if you believe someone else is using your enrolment number.
3. What you must not do
- Hold yourself out as an advocate if you are not one
- Use another advocate's identity, enrolment number or mobile number
- Post work that is not genuine, or that you have no instructions for
- Share, on this platform, anything covered by privilege without the client's consent
- Solicit clients. This platform is for advocate-to-advocate work only
- Attempt to obtain another user's personal data other than through the platform's ordinary use
- Interfere with the service, its security, or its rate limits
4. Your professional obligations are yours
You remain bound by the Advocates Act 1961, the Bar Council of India Rules, and every duty you owe your client. Nothing on this platform relieves you of any of it. In particular:
- Whether you may engage another advocate on a matter, and on what terms, is your professional judgement
- Conflicts of interest are yours to check. We do not check them
- What you may disclose about a matter is yours to decide
5. The wallet and money: read this clause
Adhivaktas.com is running a trial. During the trial:
- The wallet holds trial credits, not money. They are shown in rupees so that fees read as fees, but they are not currency, a deposit or a stored value. They cannot be bought, refunded, transferred outside the platform, or exchanged for money.
- No real money passes through us. We receive, hold and pay out none.
- Every advocate whose enrolment is verified receives ₹1,000 of trial credits, and ₹100 more for each advocate who joins with their invite and is verified.
How a fee moves, in trial credits:
- Posting a brief locks its fee in your wallet. If you take the brief down, or we remove it, the locked credits come back to you.
- When you confirm the work, the fee goes to the other advocate's wallet as their earnings, in full. Earnings can be spent on briefs like any other credits.
- You may ask to withdraw your earnings to your own UPI ID. During the trial a withdrawal is recorded and nothing is paid out.
- If you refuse to confirm the work, the fee stays locked. Either advocate may ask us to look at the record. We then return the credits to the poster or release them to the other advocate, and tell both of you which, and why. That is a decision about trial credits on this platform, not a finding about the work.
Anything the two of you settle with each other outside Adhivaktas.com is between you. We do not receive it, cannot refund or reverse it, and cannot make anyone pay. A dispute about it is between you and the other advocate, and ultimately for a court or your Bar Council. Our record is available to you as evidence.
Before the wallet carries real money, we will publish the terms that apply to it and tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Nothing about real money applies to you until then.
6. Our fee
Adhivaktas.com is free until May 2027. We charge nothing until then.
After that we will charge a flat platform fee. We will publish it on the Pricing page, and tell you in the app, at least 30 days before it applies. It will be a fixed charge for use of the platform, never a share, cut or percentage of any professional fee you earn or pay, and it will not vary with the value of any engagement. It will be payable through Razorpay, taxes as applicable, and it will always be separate from, and never deducted from, any fee between advocates.
Our fee is non-refundable once paid, except for a charge made by mistake, as the Refunds and Cancellation Policy sets out.
7. The record we keep
For every engagement we record what was agreed, what evidence of completion was submitted, and whether payment was marked made or refused with the reason. Both parties can see it. We may produce it to a court, the Bar Council, or a Grievance Officer proceeding.
We do not read the messages between you and another advocate for any purpose other than operating the service, and we do not use their content for analytics. See the Privacy Notice.
8. Suspension
We may suspend or remove an account that appears to be impersonating an advocate, is not entitled to use the platform, is the subject of a credible complaint, or is being used to abuse the service. Where we can, we tell you why and let you respond.
9. Availability
The service is provided as is. We do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of error. Do not rely on it for anything time-critical in a matter (a listing, a limitation date, an appearance) without your own backup.
10. Liability
To the extent Indian law permits, we are liable only for loss caused by a technical fault in Adhivaktas.com itself. We are not liable for any loss arising from an engagement between advocates, from any advocate's act or omission, or from non-payment.
Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Trial credits have no cash value, and no claim for money lies in respect of them.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Your data
Governed by the Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.
12. Complaints
Grievance Officer: Urmila, grievance@adhivaktas.com. See the Grievance Redressal Policy. Acknowledgement within 24 hours, resolution within 15 days.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform afterwards means you accept them.
14. Governing law
Indian law. Courts at Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.
